So 6 weeks after the store opened and the fit-out dust had settled, we finally felt it timely to have a bit of a party to officially launch the store. So on the 19th April we invited guests from the arts, interiors and media industries, as well as family and friends to join us for an evening of drinks and canapes. It was also an oportunity for us to thank those who helped us out on our journey as well as give an overview of the brands, artists and designers we currently stock.
We were fortunate enough to have a beautiful sunny spring evening; it was so encouraging to hear the comments and thoughts of those attendng on our products, especially as the aim of our business is to bring brands and artists that have never sold in Northern Ireland before, and are not available elsewhere.
The evening also gave us an opportunity to explain where we source our products whether that's importing from Europe or from within the UK and Ireland. Showcasing in particular Tom's Drag our anchor brand was a real personal highlight as we are the exclusive stockist of the brand in Ireland, with its hand painted sculptures and furniture it is truly breath-taking, if not a little quirky - how could it not be with gold boots for feet and strategically placed eye lashes and thats just the 5'8 giraffe! Guests were also invited to see a preview of new pieces from lauded artist Kristjana S Williams including her award winning globes and unique 3D Diorama 'Paper Theatres', only available in Omnibus Home and Harrods, London.
Guests were also treated to the attendance of two local artists whose works are available in the store; the hugely talented husband and wife duo Dawn Crothers and Stephen Whalley. Dawn has a wide range of limited edition prints from her birthstone range in store as well as stunning original works and a new range of household goods including oven gloves, placemats and teatowels. We definitely saw a few starstruck guests upon their arrival!
The evening was a huge succes and saw a number of our guests even make purchases, which was never our intent but nonetheless we were very grateful for the support. So as the weather begins to improve, at least we hope so, we look forward to new season stock and more people out and about on the Lisburn Road. We have some exciting new suppliers coming in in the coming weeks and months, not to mention Christmas stock (we know but we've already orders placed!) again exclusive to Omnibus Home and quite stunning.
So for now all just a final workd of thanks for your continued support.
